Events Diary

Please note that the date of the match against the North Area of Scotland has been changed to avoid a clash with an SGU Secretary & Captains day in the Area. It is now being held at Ballater on Thursday 5th July. If this date change means that you can/cannot play in the match, please advise the Regional Secretary asap.

Educational Seminar

This seminar being held at Bruntsfield Links on Tuesday 17th April has (to date) received a poor response. Successive Scottish committees have for years badgered HQ to host educational events in the region so it is disappointing that eventual success is being so poorly supported. You are reminded that if you intend to attend you must inform HQ who are organising the event. Once more the link is;

Spring Meeting

Application forms for attendance at this event are attached. Please return them with the £20 fee to the Regional Secretary asap. These links are an absolute gem and remind you of how golf used to be played. Finesse, not power, is the key so, all you oldies, fill in the form and come along for a walk down memory lane!

Team Selections

Attached are the details of the team selections for the year. Once more every effort has been made to give a fair allocation to applicants. You will note however that some matches are undersubscribed and others have no reserves. As usual the Irish match was oversubscribed and attempts have been made to reduce the number of retired and unattached players but this is also viewed across all matches to give a balance. Any changes to the Regional Secretary asap please.

Regional Subscriptions

Please note that HQ have advised the region of those who have (and have not) paid their regional subscription. Members are reminded that payment of this subscription is required for participation in regional events. If you haven’t paid your subscription, please do so now.

This is under construction with the kind help of Intelligent Golf. Watch this space!! It is our intention to post all news and results on this site which will be linked to the HQ site. Any ideas for inclusion to the Regional Secretary please.


Members may be aware via the HQ correspondence that the Moroccan tourist board have been pushing their golfing facilities throughout a European marketing drive. Part of that drive was a taster of what was on offer which was given to National Committee and Regional Secretary reps in December 2011. As a quid pro quo we have offered to ‘spread the word’ and accordingly please find attached two flyers which may be of interest to your members.

Association Products

In an effort to reduce stocks held at HQ each region has been given some silk and polyester ties and lapel badges for sale to members. Prices are £15, £10 and £5 respectively. I shall endeavour to bring these to association events so if anyone is interested….(?)
