Details of the Seminar to be held at
The Renaissance Club
On Wednesday 8th October 2014
08.30 – 9.00am Registration – coffee/tea and biscuits – seated by 09.00am
09.00 – 09.30am Captain Ian Neil of the Scottish Region will act as Chair, confirm details and timings for the seminar and answer any questions relating to same. Representatives from Regional sponsors will be introduced and invited to give short presentations.
09.30 – 9.50am Ian Henderson of Golf Finance, and Board Member of the Renaissance, will give an overview of the history and aspirations of the club.
9.50 – 10.20am Neil Hunter and Kenny Campbell, Accounts Managers of Capital Solutions will give a brief overview of the company, detail the service and support infrastructure which they provide and a snap shot of their primary products and core benefits. They shall also answer any questions from the floor.
10.20 – 11.00am Bob Williams, Chief Executive of the GCMA will give an overview of recent developments within the Association and set out the plans for the future.
11.00 – 11.10am Comfort break (no coffee)
11.10 – 11.40am Allan Minto, Managing Partner, The Square Route Partnership shall give a marketing presentation addressing the following; At a time when retaining and growing membership is increasingly difficult, visitor green fee revenue is playing an important role in balancing a golf club’s budget. This presentation will cover golf marketing for individual golf clubs and demonstrate the value of working in collaboration with regional golf development groups and other golf tourism related sectors.
11.40 - 12noon General question and answer session
12.00 – 13.00pm A buffet lunch will be served followed by golf over the course. The usual Stableford competition will be held with a prizegiving (sponsored by Eagle Promotions) after play. Please note that there shall be a two tee start and players shall be playing in groups of fours to ensure completion of play. Groupings shall be decided by the Regional Secretary and posted on arrival at the club.
