08.30 – 9.00am           Registration – coffee/tea and biscuits – seated by 09.00am

09.00 – 09.30am         Vice Captain Ian Neil of the Scottish Region will act as Chair, confirm details and timings for the seminar and answer any questions relating to same.  Representatives from Regional sponsors will be introduced and invited to give short presentations.

09.30 – 10.10am         Frank Clapp the National Captain and Bob Williams, the Chief Executive of the GCMA shall give a review of recent happenings within the Association and the need to work closely with similar organisations.

10.10 – 10.50am         Kevin Will of McHardy & Burnett shall review the latest changes to pension regulations and the impact they may have on clubs.  He shall advise on the why and when this ‘auto enrolment’ shall be implemented and detail the implications on cost, penalties and options.

10.50 – 11.00am          Comfort break.

11.00 – 11.45am         In his second presentation, Bob Williams shall give an outside view of the need for change within golf clubs.  With over twenty years experience of managing golf clubs and now nine months into the Chief Executives roll Bob will pass on his views and vision towards the future of the industry.

11.45 – 12.30pm          Here’s tae us, wha’s like us!!  Well, no one actually but perhaps near enough.  In response to the recent member survey completed in Scotland, Regional Secretary Allan Osborne reviews his fourteen years as Secretary of Bathgate Golf Club and some of the major problems which beset the club during that time. (Solutions provided also).

12.30 – 13.30pm         A buffet lunch will be served followed by golf over the PGA, Kings and Queens courses.  The usual Stableford competition will be held with a prizegiving (sponsored by Eagle Promotions) in the Dormy House after play.  Players are asked to choose their course before the event as reservations have been made from 13.30 on each course but it would be courteous for us to intimate the tee times required beforehand.
